MATCHED!!!
That's right! We are incredibly thankful this holiday season to share with you that we have been matched with our little girl and there is so much to her story and so many incredible details that we will be sharing in the days ahead. Until then, we would like to share our adoption video at the end of this post so that you can learn more about her story, our story, and what the months ahead will look like as we move towards the day that we will meet our little one.
Our last few months have been so full ( in a good way of course!) as we prepared to lead a mission trip and then for the last month we spent two weeks serving in Guatemala with our mission team, returned home and then made the decision to accept the referral for our little one. (fun details to come in the upcoming days on our blog)
Our agency received our adoption approval letter from China on November 20 and mailed it to our home and we received our official approval letter by mail this week, just in time for Thanksgiving!
On Thanksgiving Eve, we officially signed our acceptance letter and submitted all of our next level of paperwork with China and the U.S. immigration office. (and well, we might have killed a small forest in the process, just maybe)
It was during the process of signing our documents and snapping a few photos, that we both realized that neither of us have a future career as hand models...
After several evenings of working on enough paperwork to wrap around our neighborhood block a time or two, we headed off to Fedex to mail this all important package- and right in the nick of time- 10 minutes before closing for Thanksgiving! [a big thank you to the Fedex lady who was definitely more than ready to close down for the night, but was willing to take this photo when we told her how important her job had been tonight. :) ]
We are so grateful for the privilege of being called to adopt and are excited about what the next few months ahead will bring as God continues to write our story.
